On 21 of September 2012 Department of Foreign Connections and Cooperation with Business Councils and an International Institute of Management for Business Associations of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducted webinar (online internet seminar): "Features of opening and running business in India, practical advices".


This webinar is part of the Department of Foreign Connections and cooperation with Business Councils of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry's series of online internet seminars (webinars), devoted to the features of running business in the number of countries in CIS and all over the globe of particular interest of the Russian business community.

Taking in account the desire of Russian entrepreneurs, who start their activities in foreign countries or with international partners, to obtain objective information about doing business in any country, webinar was hold with participation of experts with practical experience in public-private business in India.

The webinar was organized with an active assistance of the representative of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India Eugene Zaduraeva. It was attended by Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in India Eugene Korshunov, managing director of the Russian company "Sitronics India Private Ltd." Timur Vekilov and by the Indian company "Ruskonsaltent's" representative Afishek Rangali.

Webinar was opened by Vladimir Padalko, the Head of the Department of Foreign Connections and cooperation with Business Councils of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He noted that Russia and India have long-standing ties of cooperation based on common interests, and bilateral relations are of strategic importance. The high level of political and governmental contacts opens up great opportunities to expand trade and economic relations. Significant contribution to the increase in turnover can make cooperation between small and medium businesses in the regions of these two countries. Great help to the development of business contacts between Russian and Indian business communities brings the representation of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, its expert works full time in New Delhi.

Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in India Eugene Korshunov has informed the participants of the webinar on current economic situation in India and the prospects of Russian-Indian trade and economic cooperation. He stressed that in the present volume of trade between two countries does not meet the level of political and public relations. However, it tends to a constant growth. Trade turnover between the two countries for the period from January to July 2012 increased by almost 53% compared to 2011 and is amounted to about 6 billion dollars USA. The leaders of the Russian Federation and India set an ambitious goal: by 2015 to increase the volume of bilateral trade to 20 billion dollars USA. A large reserve in the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation is in expansion of inter-regional relations.

Representative of the Indian company "Ruskonsaltent" Afishek Rangali told about the requirements of Indian law to the documents necessary for registration in India and representative offices of foreign companies.

Timur Vekilov in his speech touched several issues related to the peculiarities of doing business with Indian partners, the subtleties of the contracting process and contracts, services of consulting firms in solving organizational and technical and other issues of opening business in India.

The representative of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India Eugene Zaduraev gave examples of specific claims for Indian partners for the quality of products supplied to Russia. He spoke also about the possible ways of resolving conflicts and disputes.

Further development of cooperation between small and medium businesses, the expansion of inter-regional cooperation will promote the development of trade and economic and business relations between India and Russia - that was the conclusion reached at the webinar.

This webinar was attended by 15 regional Chambers of Commerce and Idustry.
